Leadership at Community Collaboration of Delaware is pleased to announce that we have completed the Beau Biden Foundation's Shield of Protection® (SOP) program. "The Shield of Protection provides a holistic assessment of youth-serving organizations and schools by thoroughly evaluating their child protection policies, procedures and programming, and the resources and programs they offer for the families and children they serve." The coveted SOP Partner designation is only awarded to schools and/or youth-serving organizations who achieve standard or best practice in their policies and procedures around youth protection, as determined by the Beau Biden Foundation.
Following a thorough initial assessment of our organization's youth policies and procedures, CCD leadership worked in collaboration with representatives from the Beau Biden Foundation over the course of multiple months to create an action plan that would help CCD implement best practices and policies that better protect the children involved in our programming. CCD Executive Director, David Salter, stated, "We are extremely thankful to the Beau Biden Foundation for this great opportunity. Completing this assessment was a goal of CCD's since our inception last year and it is something that we are very proud to be apart of." The Beau Biden Foundation's Claudine Wiat thanked CCD for their strong commitment to child protection. Ms. Wiat stated, "We want to thank you for your commitment to improving your child protection policies, procedures, and programming.
