Community Collaboration of Delaware held a community park cleanup and can-drive event at Battery Park in New Castle, DE.
On Sunday, November 22nd, Community Collaboration of Delaware held a community park cleanup and can-drive event at Battery Park in New Castle, DE. With the generous support from our fellow community activists, CCD helped collect multiple bags of trash along the park's walking paths and coastline as well as a box of canned and dry goods that were donated to our event partner, Phoenix Used Clothing, who had conducted community outreach leading up to Thanksgiving for local families in need. When asked about the event, CCD Executive Director David Salter said, "A great turnout for a great event. Giving back to the community with our fellow community members is what it's all about. Thank you to all who attended!"
A special thank you to all of the event volunteers for their time and effort in helping us with this cause, as well as our collaborative community partners: Phoenix Used Clothing, the City of New Castle, Trustees of the New Castle Common, New Castle City Police Department, New Castle Weekly, and Keep Delaware Beautiful, who supplied the trash bags, vest, and trash-pickers for this event.
