In a spirited display of community camaraderie, CCD's Dodgeball Tournament took center stage at The Spirit Center on March 16th, 2024.
The event, held at The Spirit Center's gym, saw an incredible turnout as local businesses, nonprofits, partners, and community members converged for a day filled with energy, excitement, and plenty of dodgeball action.
With teams bringing their A-game, the tournament showcased fierce competition and boundless enthusiasm. A huge shoutout was extended to all the teams for their unwavering dedication and spirited performances. Among the 14 teams of 5 who vied for victory, Sobergang #SG4L emerged triumphant, clinching the title of overall winners.
CCD expressed immense gratitude to its partners who not only participated but also shared valuable information with the community. Partners such as Face the Facts, New Castle County Hero Help, Mental Health Association of Delaware, and Firm Foundation played an integral role in making the event a resounding success.
Adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament, participants flaunted creative costumes, further igniting the festive atmosphere. The crowd's verdict for the best-dressed individual went to Renee Grajewski, whose attire injected an extra dose of joy into the proceedings.
Teams from various walks of life contributed to the event's vibrancy and dynamism. The roster of participating teams included CCD Men, CCD Women, Journey, Face the Facts Teams 1 & 2, Firm Foundation, NO Hitter's (HERO Help), Voices of Hope, TM Williams Expansion, Team Life, Harbeson Dog Pound, Sober Gang, and The Irish Good Bye's.
Reflecting on the resounding success of the tournament, organizers expressed anticipation for next year's edition, already counting down the days until the community comes together once again for another unforgettable event.
