Youth Programs
Extended School Care
CCD, in partnership with Colonial School District, provided extended school care and summer programming to 75 students from Carrie Downie Elementary School during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years. This grant-based program provided local families with free extended care programming that focused on educational, nutritional, recreational, and social development activities. With a specific emphasis on collaborating with community partners, this youth development program helped CCD inspire continued change in local communities by planting the seeds of hope for the next generation of Delaware’s leaders.
Prevention Program
In the Fall of 2024, CCD, in partnership with the New Castle City Police Department, will launch a grant-funded prevention program for a cohort of 7th grade students from New Castle, DE. This initiative, formally known as the HOPE (Healthy Options for Prevention Education) Program, is generously funded by the City of New Castle. This new community resource will span 11 weeks and will be hosted at the New Castle Public Library. The CCD HOPE Program aims to equip young students with essential skills and knowledge to make healthy life choices, thereby fostering a safer and more informed community.
